Beacon Hill Park, Victoria


Beacon Hill park is a 200 acre park located in Victoria, BC. This park contains number of ecreational things including a waterpark, two playgrounds, playing fields, a petting zoo, and landscape gardens and woodland. This area was originally a protected area by Sir James Douglas, in 1858. The land was officially made municipal park of the City of Victoria in 1882. Its name was derived from a small hill.

This park is having gardens and playing fields, and it is rich with native flora including Douglas-fir, Garry oak, snowberry, western redcedar, trillium, and fawn lily. And, in this flora species like racoons, river otters, squirrels and many types of birds are seen in abundance. The ponds in this park are having swans, ducks, blue herons and geese.
