Saint Andrews, New Brunswick

Saint Andrews is a town in Canada in Charlotte County in New Brunswick. It has 1,890 population. It is called by its nickname St. Andrews-by-the-sea for its tourism marketing.

It is located on the southern tip of a triangular shaped peninsula. It is the country with shire town. It is a treasure of beautiful natural beauty and architecture and wonderful rich marine life.

Important and main attractions are The Ross Memorial Museum, Horticulture Gardens, Marine Aquarium, Minister's Island, etc. Whale watching, shops, restaurants, small inns, art and craft galleries and charming seaside setting are some other source of attraction.

Minister's Island is named after Anglican priest, Rev. Samuel Andrews, who first settled on this island. It has a few minutes of drive from downtown Saint Andrew. There are tour-guides that guides you to the stone house of Andrews and his family, old windmills and livestock barns of North America.

Ross Museum is the museum of Henery Phipps and Sarah Juliette Ross who collected eclectics. They donated their collection to the town for the welfare. They are world travellers and collected many unique objects from whole world. Their house is full of neoclassical interior and fine furniture.

All Saints Anglican is the oldest church, Sheriff Andrew House the oldest house in city of 18th century, Atlantic Salmon Interpretive Centre is a place which offers visitors to meet wild Atlantic salmon, through an underground chamber. St. Andrews Blockhouse was built in the war of 1812 as a coastal defence structure, it still stands and tourist attraction.

Kings brae Gardens are various type of gardens ,there are ornamental garden, edible garden, rose garden, a cedar garden, gravel garden etc., there are about 50,000 different plants in these gardens.

The St. Andrews Art Council provide educational and performance opportunities for students of all ages for encouraging art and literature.
