Charlottetown is a Canadian city. It is the number one tourist place to visit. It is the largest and provincial capital of this Island named Prince Edward Island. It was first established as a town in 1855
It was famous for first Charlottetown Conference in 1864, this Conference is the first gathering of Maritime statesmen of Canada to propose Maritime Union. It is also known as Canadian Confederation because there was Union of British North America. From this Confederation, this city got its motto that is Birthplace of Confederation--- Cunabula Foederis.
It is largest city of Prince Edward Island with 35000 people who live and enjoy life here. This city offers good quality of life to its citizen. It is the center of activities such as shopping, entertainment and investment at very low cost.
In 1964 the Cinfederation Center of Arts was established, and it contains public library, art gallery and mainstage theater for the Charlottetown Festival. This Center becomes one of the best gift for the residents of this Island.
This city is situated on harbour that is formed by three rivers and their confluence in the central part of this island. This city is V-shaped. There is mostly urban culture and urban development is still going.
There are many victorian-era building and houses in downtown, which is the main attraction for the tourists. Moreover, waterfront development projects and new cruise ship terminal are also going to steal attraction. Many art-galleries and theater are also places to visit and Charlottetown Festival during days of summer is itself a most popular among tourists from different part of the world.
This year 2014 the city is celebrating its 150 year of Confederation, there will be a big festival to enjoy. So one must join its beauty and be the part of this festival.
